Matchup - New Feature at RoyaleAPI

    Posted: 03 Oct 2019 04:54 AM PDT

Matchup - New Feature at RoyaleAPI

We have implemented an exciting feature at RoyaleAPI this week—Matchup!

Have you ever wondered if you should have won a battle when you are playing against a specific deck? Have you argued with your friends if you have gotten hard countered? The Matchup analysis is designed to help you with this information specifically!

    Matchup analysis between decks

    How does it work?

Added to all of the battle logs is a green % button (A). If you tap on it, it provides win rate information between the two decks in the past 30 days.

Depending on how popular the decks are, sometimes we might not find the exact matchup (B) — which is why we have added fuzzy matchup as results, showing battles which match 7+ cards (C) or 6+ card (D) on either side.

Additionally, we have added a Reliability Indicator (E), which is related to the number of battles needed for a statistically significant sample in the matchup analysis.

This feature requires Login and you will need to login with your Discord account to access it.

    How to interpret the data

The example matchup above shows that statistically, the Pekka Ram Rider deck on the right has a higher chance of winning against the IceBow deck on the left. The player on the left has in fact won the battle, which suggests that he is a good player as he is able to win a difficult matchup.

Using the fuzzy matchup data, we can deduce that even if the exact decks are not used, playing X-Bow against Pekka Ram Rider is generally difficult.

    Feedback

What do you think about this feature?

    Elixir Golem: A walking loan.

    Posted: 03 Oct 2019 06:21 PM PDT

In this post, I will be talking about the elixir golem; it's strengths, weaknesses and how to use it.

Now, the elixir golem is a 3 elixir tank with stats comparable to that of a golem. It starts out with a 1500 main golem, then splits into 2 golemites (with no death damage) each with 750 health. Each golemite will then split into 2 elixir blobs (for a total of 4) each with roughly 300 health, for a rough total of 4500 health. Now, you might be thinking, "3 elixir for a golem? Supercell has gone insane!" While yes, it's pretty crazy you can get a 3 elixir golem, the tradeoff is, each blob will give your opponent 1 elixir. So the full destruction of an elixir golem will give 4 elixir to your opponent. That is why I'm calling the elixir golem "A walking loan." You basically borrow an 8 elixir card for 5 elixir less, however you will eventually have to repay 4 elixir, meaning you give up 3 elixir at the start, and 4 elixir later (however, you don't lose 4 elixir." This makes this card the first card to give elixir directly to your opponents, and in a very interesting way

Strengths: High health High damage Low cost High value Negates a lot of golems weaknesses (high damage single target troops, like inferno tower/dragon and pekka.)

Weaknesses: Gives your opponent 4 elixir Very weak to swarmies due to no death damage Very situational, as playing it wrong could make the push you just tried to defend much worse.

Now, to use the elixir golem, I say you wait until double elixir. This is because the chances of some of the 4 elixir going to waste increase highly.
The best decks will probably be variations of bridge spam, or at least decks where you can drop troops at the bridge and hope they do damage (traditional bridgespam, loon, hog, graveyard, goblin barrel, etc) Have a VERY GOOD all around defensive unit to prepare for the onslaught of enemy troops you just created. Exenado will probably appear in most EG decks, as it can take care of fairly everything. Or at least tornado and some sort of splasher (rocket, baby dragon, ice wiz, etc.) Be careful of playing it in the back, as your opponent can play something like a golem and know for a fact they can support that golem by killing your elixir golem. Don't use EG like an ice golem (exception being kiting.) If you place an EG in the middle of a push to try and keep your defense units from being attacked, it will only make it worse.

    Anyways, that's all. Thanks!
