    Hey Reddit,

    For a looooong time, one of the biggest pieces of feedback for Clash Royale has been centered around 'unfair' matchups among King Levels.

    Today we are addressing this in a maintenance break!

    ---

    • WHAT'S CHANGING?

    A global change coming to solo matchmaking.

    Players will now get matched by default with players who have a King Level +1 or -1 to their own (alongside an equal match).

    E.g King Level 12 player will get matched with King Level 11, 12 or 13.

    Note: this rule will not change any current matchmaking rules based on Trophy counts.

    • KEEPING MATCHMAKING FAST

    However to keep matchmaking times acceptable, these parameters will increase by a further +1 / -1 every 5 seconds of search time, up to a maximum of +3 / -3 at 10 seconds.

    This is to ensure that players are not getting stuck searching for a game for long periods of time.

    • CLAN WARS 2 EXCEPTION

    The exception to the above rule is in Clan Wars 2, where the time to increase King Level matching will be 20 seconds instead of 5 seconds. This is due to feedback about current Clan Wars matchups, which we hope this will address and allow more time to find an opponent with a King Level nearer to your own.

    These changes go live shortly in a maintenance on Thursday Feb 25th.

    We will be monitoring this matchmaking change to see if any issues arise and will make changes if we see any negative impacts, so (fair warning here) this might not be a permanent change if we see issues.

    Hopefully we get to keep it as is however as it is overall a positive change for the game!

    The lack of communication on behalf of Supercell is appalling and needs to change.

    Its sad that I have to say this. The amount of communication between the ClashRoyale team on both Reddit and Twitter is at an all time low. On average a member of the Clash Royale team says 6 things EACH month that are game related. Drew for example will go 2 weeks at a time without any communication then say nice art under some post meanwhile the underlying issues we all have are left unanswered. Besides the communication issues, we shouldn't have to hear about news through other sources such as Royale API. Hearing about the balance changes being moved to April should not come from a third party; that is ridiculous and is the icing on the cake for me.

    Personally I think a Q&A should be hosted where the community on both Reddit and Twitter can ask questions and get a honest and truthful response.

    Are they actually serious? The gall of this company, 3 months and we get nothing, no balance update. The +1/-1 is their answer to progression!!!

    This has to be be the final straw with a lot of players. They cannot even do the quarterly balancing changes. We have a community manager who never communicates anything. Royaleapi and clash with ash had to give us this information.

    This is pathetic you should be here and on Twitter at least every fortnight with something posted about the state of the game.

    Supercell have operated in bad faith too many times to be trusted with what they say, but 3 months for +1/-1, they are even reusing assets again with the arena.

    My suggestions to fix this are simple, hire competent people to do the job they are being paid to do. Don't lie to us anymore, if you knew that you weren't going to be able to do the update for season 21 admit it early don't wait until 4 days before hand.

    They should at least tell us now what to expect in April, we have waited long enough.

    Some people just don't understand

    Man, people really don't understand what the dev team just did. They had to go back and restructure their core matchmaking code to allow for more parameters to be put in place. Tampering with the core code in any program can easily induce errors that are super difficult to correct. The fact that they did that and are ready to implement it as early as tomorrow is a sign that they are finally taking the risks needed to make this game fun again.

    To put this into perspective, this is something that Among Us worked on for well over a year just so they could add everything that was once going into Among Us 2. They had to make sure the core gameplay remained the same while changing the core code so that things can be added upon it.

    So I was helping my 12 year old cousin with his homework. And while we were doing english (I am from greece. There are special school things in which people learn english) I saw clash royale on the book. Bc the book was written on 2016 it has the OG screen. XD

    I've been playing this game for 4 years now and it's been a blast overall. I know many share the same sentiment about the current status of the game and it lack of effort on "keeping it interesting".

    Our clan has always been fun, well moderated, and non toxic yet the decline of players is remarkable and laughable.

    It would be nice for Supercell to put an actionable strategy aside from "Game Modes" and add a whole new set of themed cards. If it breaks the game, at least we'd all have something to talk about besides the same meta we are currently tolerating.

    Has this game been abandoned?

    I don't frequent this sub, so it's entirely possible the team is sharing updates here that I'm not seeing. I thought they had mentioned some changes for war around being able to select the amount of members you want to participate in a war to improve matchups. Also I've seen nothing new posted in the news section of the game for a while. It just seems like it's over.

    little random but what happend to nickatnyte:/ i used to watch him play clash royale with molt and pat but now he doesnt upload and i tuned in to one of his streams and he said he sold a lot of his equimnent. Does he have a finacial problem or something else please let me know
