    How to use and counter Sparky

    NOTE: This guide assumes all cards are tournament standard.

    Sparky is the highest damaging card in the game. Placed at the bridge by itself, it is quite easy to counter. Paired with a tank such as a Giant, it becomes much more difficult to deal with.

    1. How to use the Sparky.

    As said in the introduction, you should aim to pair it with a tank. The only exception is (maybe) valkyrie, as it is the highest HP mini-tank in the game, and has an AoE attack. The Valkyrie's AoE attack allows it to deal with swarmies easily, such as Skeleton Army, or Goblin Gang. You want the opponent to "feed" the Sparky troops.

    For example, you have a Giant and Sparky push on the right lane. The opponent places an Electro Wizard. Both Electro Wizard beams hit the giant, and the Sparky's 6 elixir now means you essentially have a 2 elixir Sparky. The opponent places an Ice Golem, in fear of the Sparky connecting. The Electro Wizard and Ice Golem completely negate the cost of the Sparky.

    Now, your opponent has used up all of their Elixir. The Giant is around a third of its hitpoints, and the Sparky destroys the tower. This the ideal situation for using the Sparky.

    2. Placements.

    The Sparky is a very versatile card, and is quite effective at counterpushing. Assuming you first place your Sparky at the back. Once your Sparky reaches your Princess Tower, your opponent uses a Rocket on it. If you know your opponent has Rocket, DONT place a tank in front of it, as they are usually going for that spell value. To avoid this, place your Sparky in front of the king tower (not directly in front) to avoid that Rocket value hitting a Princess tower.

    Try to wait until they use Rocket before placing your tank. If they do, there will most likely be little supporting the tank, having spent 6 elixir on the Sparky. In the case you have a high DPS and low cost card, place it behind the lone tank to get some value out of the tank. Only do this if you have enough elixir do defend the opposite lane.

    3. Card Counters.

    This list is how many hits it takes for a Sparky to kill these cards, assuming the Sparky is immortal and there are no arena towers.

    Note: PP means Perfect Placement. Note: These are assuming optimal placements. Perfect placements are difficult to do and are unlikely to repeatedly happen.

    • Skeletons (2 hits),(3 if PP) • Goblins (Same as Skeletons) • Knight (2 hits) • Valkyrie (2 hits) • Mini Pekka (2 hits) • Goblin gang (3 hits) • Guards (4 hits),(6 if PP) • Electro Wizard (Infinite Hits/Stun Mechanic)

    3.1 Spawners and Spawner Troops

    • All spawner cards usually take 3 or more hits for Sparky. • Exception is Tombstone, where it is usually 4 or more hits.

    4. Deck counters.

    Decks with many distractors are effective. For example, 2.6. The skeletons and ice spirit are very distracting to the Sparky.

    Warning: Don't place these distractors in a group because Sparky has splash!

    5. How not to use Sparky.

    • Do not give the opponent spell value. • Be VERY careful of Sparky's 0.75 tile recoil. This recoil can cause Sparky to switch lanes, completely ruining the future push. • Do not place a Sparky without a tank, the exception is when you are defending.

    6. Overview

    Sparky is an amazing card if played correctly. It deals a massive 1100 damage and has a 1 tile splash. However, there are counters to it. You can counter most counters to Sparky with a ranged splash troop, such as Wizard, or Executioner.
