    After pulling several all-nighters and running multiple data mining groups across the world, we have finally brought some exciting details for the next update!

    Newest Features

    Pass Royale Deluxe

    -For the low price of $20 a month, you will have access to new EXCLUSIVE content, with premium features, including a 2nd tower skin, name color change, an emote, and more! With Pass Royale Deluxe, you now gain a FREE grand challenge entry every week, as well as having the option to continue a grand challenge for gems. The Deluxe track also offers multiple legendary chests, which will each contain one random card that you most definitely won't need!

    -Unfortunately, whatever is given must be taken away in another area. Both the regular Pass Royale and free tracks have been replaced with all crown chests. The free tier now has half as many crown chests as Pass Royale and must wait 48 hours to unlock one crown chest, while also no longer having a legendary chest at the end. The Regular Pass is still the same, except all of the special chests are replaced with crown chests.

    Overall, Pass Royale Deluxe offers TRIPLE the progression of Pass Royale, for only QUADROUPLE the price! What a steal!

    Removal of trade tokens

    -Trade tokens allowed casual players to progress way too fast, so now they will be removed entirely. Instead, they are now being replaced with "Magical Coins". These coins can be exchanged for any 100 commons, 35 rares, 8 epics, or 1 legendary card. They are exclusively won in Grand Challenges on the 12th win. This is to ensure that casual players do not progress too fast and give paying players a fair chance to win

    King level 14

    -We all saw this coming. Max players simply have nothing left to do in the game anymore, so adding another king level will bring even more joy and excitement to mid-ladder.

    Removal of the reward boot

    -SuperCell has heard the complaints from the community and has decided to get rid of the war boot. They also decided to be generous and boosted the first place rewards by more than double!... and got rid of the 2nd-5th place chests.

    Removal of the mute button

    -Emotes were incredibly fun to use in order to torment the opponent, so in order to promote the sales of Pass Royale Deluxe, the mute button will finally be removed!

    -In addition, the laughing king emote will also have it's volume increased by 800% alongside triggering a screenshake when the opponent takes your tower.

    -New text emotes include "Thanks!", Oops", "Thanks!", and "Thanks!"

    Balance Changes

    Wizard splash radius increased by 300%, elixir cost set to 4 and HP -4%
    -Wizard use rates were falling behind in Grand Challenges, and since the community wanted a rework, Seth decided to take the helm for balancing once again and finalized this change.

    Xbow, Tesla, Ice Wizard, Archers, Ice golem, Skeletons, Knight, and Ice Spirit: HP Reduced by 10%
    -The maxed players of mid-ladder have reported that xbow is a little on the strong side, so it was clear that the entire deck needed a nerf despite the problem only stemming from two cards.

    Ebarbs now automatically deploy with rage effect
    -This one was suggested by u/Jmanguy, and we agree with the change.

    Rascals HP +1%

    -Seth didn't know what else to include in the monthly balance changes, so buffing a random card was clearly the best option on the table.

    New Game Modes

    Skeleton Spawn, Zap Spell Spawn, Goblin Spawn, Giant Spawn, and more!

    Gem Rush Lite: Pay gems to increase the strength of your cards!

    Minor Changes

    Shops are more likely to offer cards for gems

    New chests including Super Legendary Chest, Ultimate King's Chest, F2P Tears Chest, Emote Chest, and Platinum Chest

    Queue chest and gem chest buttons swapped again

    All conformation buttons removed

    Moved tournament standard to level 11

    NEW CARDS!!!

    Exodia Giant

    -Originally teased by a SuperCell artist on twitter and by an anonymous redditor, the Exodia giant is a powerful 6 elixir card. When 5 are placed on the field, the player wins.

    Skeleton Skeleton Dragons

    -The Baby Dragon was first to be cut in half, and now the skeleton dragons will be cut in half once again in order to make the most original card concept in the game.

    Anti-MegaKnight Personnel

    -Instantly deletes all level 14 mega knights in the arena

    Summary and Release Date

    SuperCell has been hard at work listening to the community and making beneficial changes to a few players. With all of these incredible features being added, surely Clash Royale will be at least half of what it was in 2016. With the current pace the CR team is working and the amount of Twinkie wrappers found near Seth's desk, we can confidently say that the next update will finally drop on October 31st 2023, at exactly 11:59:59pm, with the announcement being made in August stating, "This October".

    CW2 is dreadful. Can we have CW1 back please. It wasn't really broke it just needed a tweak. It was a bit of grind but at least you faced interesting decks based on opponents' collection day.

    Seriously how viable is it to just go back to how it was before. Also, roll back the QoL 'improvements' please.

    Why am I, who is newly level 8, facing a level 12 with 1000 more health on his towers? Do they think this makes me want to break out my credit card? It makes me want to quit doing clan wars. I understand why this happens on ladder, that's completely different. I don't see why it happens in clan wars. 4 levels higher, that's insane! Clan wars needs better matchmaking.

    [DISCUSSION] Is Clash Royale Going Downhill?

    Introduction

    Hey everyone, CharityFair here with another post! Today we're going to get a little more analytical, and discuss about the current state of Clash, this time with proof!

    So, without further ado, let's jump right in!

    A Bit of Background

    So, three weeks ago, the Clan Wars II update was released to Clash Royale. It received mass criticism during the time it was viral, some people even wanting to go back to CWI.

    But did the update manage to bring back attention to the game? Was it the final nail in the coffin?

    Clan Wars II: Make It or Break It?

    I have recently done some research regarding Clash Royale's popularity, and I've strung togheter some data, along with a few screenshots.

    Exhibit A

    Google Trends, September 19th 2020

    As you can see here, before the update, interest was at an all time low. During this time, people found the game to be very stale, and were eager to see the new update released.

    Google Trends (30th of August - 5th of September), September 19th 2020

    During the week of release, Clash Royale spiked back in relevance due to the massive hype surrounding the CWII update, and the powerful buzz of a big update in general.

    However, upon exploring the update, people found it to not have much content, as it was only the CW revamp, along with a few QoL changes. Alongside that, massive criticism regarding CWII was posted on Reddit during this time.

    During the following week, the game's relevance took a nose dive as a result of the people's discontent with the new CWII update.

    Now, pay attention to either of the screenshots. You can also see the two updates: the November Overtime Change, and the March Update respectively. While the two are small updates, they still managed to garner relevance, even reaching top relevance in the March Update's case.

    Now, pay attention to the CWII update's relevance. You can see that, while the relevance has grown drastically, it still only reached about a score of 76 in the relevance chart, compared to March's score of 100 in the chart.

    Does this mean that the biggest update in Clash Royale history has less relevance than a small update?

    As you can see here, the daily matches (at least compared to u/PokerFace567's table of contents) also took a bit of a nose dive. This table of contents has the data of All 1v1 Matches, including Ladder, but excluding 2v2 (it's an additional mode in this one). There are about 300k+ Daily Players, assuming that every player plays an average of three matches per day.

    There are more Ladder matches now, presumably due to Gold Rush.

    Now, keep in mind that the daily players are more of an assumption than ACTUAL data, and that those aren't the only people playing Clash Royale. There are probably many more players who play like a couple of matches only, and people who perhaps log in once every two/three/seven days.

    Final Thoughts

    It is clear now, that the CWII update wasn't what people wanted. The allure of CWII only held for about two weeks, and now it is, as far as I am concerned, back to a decline.

    It really says something, when the supposed biggest update in Clash Royale history was less popular than the game was during the March update.

    In my opinion, even if they fix every issue with CWII, the update still won't hold up. It just feels like normal gameplay, and not that different from CWI to begin with. The CR team constantly advertised it as a huge update, with content for everyone, even the newbies, and promoted it as a 'new way to play Royale', and we pretty much ended up with a new Ladder in the process.

    At this point, the developers will have to come up with an actual new way for people to enjoy the game, something engaging, something that will make the people stick. This community has lots of ideas that want to introduce something new.

    But as far as I'm concerned, they will probably just keep spending time on fixing CWII, a feature which people have already lost interest in.

    IDEA: Whenever a 2 logs meet, they cancel each other out.

    I feel like this change would bring about interesting strategies without hurting the card's overall strength. It would add an extra element especially to attacking when you know a log is coming and you're looking to defend against it.

    Edit: I know it's a spell card and spells aren't supposed to be countered but it just makes sense to me because they'd both be on the ground so they'd be bound to make contact with each other...

    No not quests, although it does need that too. I'm talking about something that is unique and seperate from the rest of the game. And yes there are many issues right now with the game that need addressing but one of those issues is new content and features.

    I cant explain it well so I'll just give some examples.

    You are given 3 daily challenges that refresh every 24 hours. All attempts are free. Completing each challenge gives a small reward and completing all of them gives an additional reward. Among them could be:

    You are given a 3 card deck. Your goal is to defend an onslaught from Elixir Golems (or any other troop) for a minute.

    You are given a pre-built deck that randomly changes cards in your hand every 10 seconds and you have to win a match with it.

    Treason: The king has been usurped. Troops replace King and Princesses (like spear goblins, Musketeer). Destroy the AI towers in the time limit to reclaim the throne. Troops that die do not respawn and you have no towers nor does the enemy spawn troops. You have a bigger deck than normal. Can only use troops. The usurping troops will differ each time so the same deck wont always work. Simply put 3 star the AI who has no troops but has buffed towers.

    This game desperately needs a lifeline and this could be it. Small daily challenges that are just fun and not dependant on money or card levels nor does it cause stress.

    While fighting each others boats is a great idea, destroying towers and delaying and sinking boats, I found that you get too few medals, and to reach 36K, the only way to make it, is to do exclusively 1x1 duels and the occasional best out of three. HOWEVER, what is the fun in that, it is like it used to be traditional game forms making what is supposed to be a fun thing become boring quickly.

    And now we made it for the first time finally getting 36k points, the war chest reward is very disappointing. 1300 gold some epics a one legendary, When being level 13, that chest is s a joke.

    Clash team, you need to improve this. A lot of potential, but needs improvement!

    Can we please have more details about events? Like if we're going to be using our own deck and basic mechanics like that the Mortar in the middle solely attacks towers? That might've been helpful to know from the start.

    I've lost interest in the game since the new update, I've been around since the very beginning (beta) my account is maxed i have all of the cards ar 13, almost all the emotes, skins, what I'm trying to say is that i'm a whale, i've spent more than 1500 usd, i am not saying i'm a great player, i'm avg, with the new update my 3+ year clan disbanded, i feel like i lost purpose on the game, what I am doing is:

    -i've lost trophies on purpose (i was at 6.5k range), now i'm at 4.2k -i am rocketing the king -set cannon, bomb tower, etc -the players can't do anything to me, i keep rocketing their king -i don't destroy their king tower, wait for the timer to give me the 3crown victory -repeat and repeat

    With this i feel like i'm getting back at supercell for giving us such a bad update and not caring for us, i am hoping to trigger a few uninstalls on the game. Well i'm an a**hole, i'm wasting my time, but i'm getting fun again, feels like i'm playing tower defense lol

    I don't care for the game, some times i even let my toddler play on my account, sometimes he even wins due to the level of the cards lol

    [Humor] REPOST How to Make Clash Royale Even More Pay To Win

    I don't know why my first post was taken down as images with less effort stay up, so asserting my 1st Amendment rights and reposting. () are actual suggestions

    I think the Clash Royale team is running out of ideas to make the game more P2W, so let's help them out. I'm starting with these 10 ideas.

    1. Add back paying gold to battle as a feature (instead of removing the daily battle limit).
    2. Give the option in Clan Wars II to pay gems to have boat battles capped at tourney standard for you (instead of just doing it).
    3. Add a Ban card ability to never see a card in Ladder or War, if you pay gems and this lasts a day (or add it as a free feature like they do for esports).
    4. For players with Maxed out cards, they can pay gems to acquire one time ability to force close their opponents' game during battle. It's so powerful that they have to pay every time to use it (or make your servers more stable).
    5. Shop cards should ONLY be purchaseable with gems. Everything else there is already gems only (or remove that gem for cards slot).
    6. You can pay 500 gems to reset losses in a global tournament (or give us back 2x tournaments a month at 250 gem rewards).
    7. Clans can donate gems back to supercell, and clans that do more of this get more favor points and easier clan war matchups against smaller clans (or add COC matchmaking 10v10, 20v20, 30v30, 40v40, 50v50).
    8. If you're tilting, you can pay gems equal to the trophies lost from the tilt to instantly recover them (or stop loser pool matchmaking).
    9. You can pay gems to activate your opponents elixir bar during battle for 1 day (or patch the existing spectating bug out).
    10. You can pay gems to borrow an exclusive emote to use for a day like the 20 win (or add back the reasonably priced emote pack offers).

    If you downvote because you obviously can't see sarcasm, you will lag nonstop in game (just kidding).
