The Definitive Power Ranking of Princess Emotes

    Posted: 02 Apr 2020 02:01 PM PDT

    12) Bow – Not even a true princess emote, the Princess Bow emote is the weakest of the bunch. Sure it shoots three arrows, but what's a Princess Bow without our lovely heroine? It's like sprinkles without ice cream, or graveyard without poison.

    11) Angry - Criminally over used, Angry Princess emote comes in low on our power rankings. When you get out played it's your own damn fault, don't drag the princess into it. In fact there are only two valid times to ever drop this emote: 1) when your teammate screws the pooch (or leaves), and 2) when they drop wall breakers while your game is still loading. Everything else is just you being a salty bad player.

    10) Toot – Finally getting to the good stuff. The herald of a match's start or a sweet counter-push, Toot Princess deserves a place in every deck. The only reason it takes knocks is because dart goblin toots better.

    9) Kissy – Best used in moderation Kissy Princess emote can throw the staunchest opponent's off balance. But sometimes it backfires, when you play against that unconfident kid who is dying for love and affection, Kissy Princess emote can be the confidence boost they need to stage a come back.

    8) Whistle – No one carries a tune better than the princess. Feign disinterest in your opponent's win con, or taunt them while you kite their PEKKA. Whistle Princess is a thing of beauty. But there's a lot of competition when it comes to princess emotes and this one just doesn't pack the same punch as some of the others.

    7) Thumbs Up - Sometimes clash is about respecting your opponents and camaraderie. More often it's about taunting them for dropping a minion horde under your fireball. But the best use for Thumbs Up Princess is in fact off the battlefield. It goes toe to toe with Strong Princess to congratulate your clan on their epic war day wins.

    6) Who Me – Useful offensively as well as defensively, the Princess Who Me emote can rub salt in the burning rubble of a tower, or make you feel better about your boneheaded play. We do not recommend leaving the castle without it.

    5) Dragprincess Shrug – When you're royalty, sometimes you have to go incognito. A fake beard, some caterpillar eyebrows, and a hood, and you can whoever you want. The versatility of the Dragprincess Shrug emote is almost unrivaled. Did I just counter you sparky with a skeleton horde, maybe.

    4) Strong – Some may wonder why the strongest emote isn't higher on the power rankings. It's because these are power rankings not strength rankings, and there are some things more powerful than strength. Things like love, covid, and your opponent not having log.

    3) Sunglasses – What's cooler than chip damage? Ice spirit. What's cooler than ice spirit? Sunglasses Princess emote plus ice spirit. Cool kid princess flipping shades on her eyes is easily the coolest kid emote in the game. It oozes confidence like an 80s frat boy. The only knocks this emote gets is that it was from a special event, so if you don't have it… well you ain't getting it.

    2) Yawn – The most infuriating emote to lose to in the game, Yawn Princess packs a heavy punch. Best when used early and consistently, it's enough to tilt even the most seasoned pro. But it has it's risks. There's no coming back from a loss after a yawn spam. It's worse than barrel clone and over-leveled ebarbs combined.

'1) Peace – A controversial top spot, most don't realize the true power of the Peace Princess emote. The two fingers up emote reigns supreme when you take out that second tower. But it's also effective after any positive elixir trade, as a herald of a counter push, as a closing screen rub in, or when that sweet predict connects. Dropping Peace Princess emote is the most powerful thing in the game since xbow could shoot air units.

Elixir Trades with the Heal Spirit

    Posted: 02 Apr 2020 04:41 PM PDT

So I just happened to have all the stats of all the cards in Clash Royale laying around in an old excel sheet and, as I have yet to see a post like this, decided to share my findings about the latest card in the game: The Heal Spirit.

Here I try to calculate which troops benefit most from getting healed by the Heal Spirit and convert that to an Elixir Trade value (ET-value).

    Example A:
Troop A's ET-value with the Heal Spirit is 1. This means that the troop has gained 2 Elixir worth of its HP. Since the cost of this interaction was the cost of playing the Heal Spirit, we subtract the cost of the Heal Spirit, leaving us with an ET-value of 1.
    Example B:
Troop B's ET-value is -0.4. Troop B has gained 0.6 Elixir worth of HP. Subtracting the cost of the Heal Spirit gives an ET-value of -0.4.

I hope you get a bit more educated by taking a look at this and subsequently trying the Heal Spirit out in your favourite deck.

    A few notes up front:

    • Everything is calculated with stats at Tournament Standard Level.
    • As of April 2nd 2020 the Heal Spirit heals a maximum of 366 HP per troop caught in its radius.
    • The following findings assume a troop has been healed up by the full 366 HP. Troops that get healed less will benefit less from the Heal's effect (makes sense, right?). This is just to show the maximum potential.
    • If a troop's max HP is less than or equal to 366 HP (like with the Princess (216) or Minions (190)), we assume it has 1 HP left before getting healed to figure out what the maximum benefit of the Heal to that troop is. We can't heal the troop by its maximum HP, as it would have had to have 0 to begin with and you can't heal a dead troop.
    • The formula to calculate the Elixir Trade (ET) you get by healing up a troop using the Heal Spirit is goes like this: (Amount of HP getting healed/HP Troop) x Elixir Cost Troop - Elixir Cost Heal Spirit = (366/HP Troop) x EC Troop -1
    • For troops with less than or equal to 366 HP, the formula is as follows: ((Max HP-1)/Max HP) x EC Troop -1
    • Unless stated otherwise, swarms are assumed to be healed fully (as in each troop in the swarm). Swarms that are split (Barbarians, split Royal Hogs, etc.) will have a lower ET-value, as only one side can be healed.
    • The Guards' shield is valued at 2 Elixir, while naked Guards are valued at 1 Elixir. This is derived from the fact that a The Log will break their shield and naked Guards are one-shot by the Arena Tower. All other troops with shields have proportional Elixir Costs while shielded or naked.
    • The Elixir Golem has 2 ET-values depending on whether your value it as a 3-Elixir or a 7-Elixir card. I won't give an opinion on which one I find most accurate.

With that out of the way, here is the raw data:

    Golem -0,510695187
    Elixir Golem 3 -0,63277592

*Royal Recruits are un-shielded. Shielded Recruits have a much lower ET.

There's probably a mistake or 2 in there (I'm only human), but it's mostly correct.

    Second to final note:
These troops are (to my knowledge) one-shot by everything. The resulting ET-values come from the way it's calculated. Don't use Heal Spirit with these troops.

    Final note:
ANY combination of 2 or more cards being healed ALWAYS has a positive ET-value. Anything but 2 Golems that is...

    Conclusions
The Heal Spirit has the best ET-values with frail but not too frail troops. Think Minions (especially a full Minion Horde) and Fireball-ees (Musketeer, Magic Archer, Electro Wizard, Witch, etc.).

In general the more HP a unit has per Elixir Cost, the worse it trades with the Heal Spirit.
    Example:
Troop A costs 5 Elixir and has 366 HP. Each 73 HP of that troop is worth 1 Elixir. If the troop is fully healed up, it has gained an equivalent of 5 Elixir's worth of HP. ET with Heal Spirit = 4
Troop B costs 1 Elixir and has 366 HP. Each 366 HP is worth 1 Elixir. Troop B is fully healed up and you've gained 1 Elixir's worth of HP. ET = 0

Hope you got something out of it!

    Edit: Forgot a note.

Mildly Interesting, Archer Tower retargeted onto Battle Healer bc Firecracker was supposed to have died, but was saved by healing effect.
