    r/ClashRoyale Quality

    Posted: 20 Aug 2021 07:27 AM PDT

The quality if this sub is plummeting down at terminal velocity. There used to be strategy posts and good ideas and discussions.

Now more than half the posts are "How can I improve my garbage midladder deck" (where the OP never listens anyways) and rate my deck posts where it's just random decks that have 5 win conditions or 0 win conditions.

There are also an increasing amount of rants about cards like mega knight and ebarbs or people sharing battle logs where they complain a 5.0 elixir average deck is overpowered.

Finally, worst of all, people complaining about card levels on a daily basis as if the discussion hasn't been had every day for the past 2 weeks straight. I simply don't understand why people are upset that they face someone with higher card levels. Most people with higher card levels in a matchup are either far worse than you (and need card levels to stand a chance so its an even matchup) or they actually manage their cards well.

It's simple logic that maxing a meta deck is the best way to get good and level up your account. If you max a meta deck, you can push higher trophies and get more rewards like the trophy road awards. People complain that they face maxed decks as if max deck equates to max player. The reality is most people simply do not manage their gold and cards well. I am almost completely F2P and have 55% cards maxed. I've been playing for 5 years.

Let it be noted that I once was a midladder player who got annoyed at higher level cards too. But instead of demanding that the entire mechanics of the game be overhauled just to appease me, I decided to do something about it and actually invest in a good deck instead of using minion horde (my first max card) and boom I actually became good at the game. After maxing one meta deck I added cards that overlap into other decks, efficiently maxing multiple meta decks while only having 20 or so max cards.

This was also around the time where trade tokens were only just introduced. Let me remind you that prior to this a legendary card was actually rare and hard to obtain and you could not trade so upgrading a card was incredibly difficult. Now there are challenges at all times (it used to be more like one a week) more rewards, like trophy road and the use of magic items to max cards easily. I maxed mother witch about 2 weeks after it became meta because I had 10 trade tokens and a bunch of wildcards and I kept getting more because of all the challenges. (By the way if your going to trash talk me, I don't even use the card anymore).

It's way easier to level stuff up than it used to be if you actually play challenges and spend wisely.

My point is the entire subreddit has become midladder players whining about whatever they hate instead of sophisticated posts that actually contribute knowledge, ideas, or strategies to the community.

I also want to add that players keep asking random questions in posts where they could easily google something. Example from today "what is the rarest chest". Is that really worth an entire post?

Conclusively, the sub has become spam. While I think its great to communicate with everyone and share ideas, the only ideas being shared now a days are "nErF tHiS cArD", "lOoK aT hIs LeVelS, wHy Am I fAcInG tHis", and "rAtE mY dEcK eVeN tHoUgH I won't listen to your advice. If you want help, don't lead your post with "stuck in midladder, I need deck advice, but mega knight golem egaint stay. Literally common sense why your losing, not worth a post if your not even going to try to change your deck.

Thank you for reading this rant. I hope the sub can rebuild itself, but I'm considering leaving because there's nothing actually good to read these days.

Edit: Literally 30 seconds after posting I see another WHAT ARE THE CHANCES POST. Another type of post that contributes nothing.

    A: Look up the chances

B: There are probably 50 posts identical to yours

New Mechanic concept- Elixir Golem full absorption (Effort Post)

Here is a concept idea for an Elixir Golem rework - Full absorption

    https://preview.redd.it/5biknea9nji71.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=5d670d8fceab492d63f868ae4fce035cf9484578

This rework aims to create a card that requires quick planning and can bring different play styles to a card.

Q: Why should Elixir golem change from its current state?

A: According to Royaleapi.com Elixir Golem had a 2% usage rate and a 45% win rate in Grand Challenges over the last 3 days. I believe that my proposed rework would result in the card's win & usage rate to boost up while also making it interesting, fun and skill-full.

The Elixir Golem's cost increases or decreases based on how much elixir you currently have in your elixir bar.

So if you have 9 elixirs the Elixir Golem will cost 9 elixirs, if you have 5 elixirs the Elixir Golem will cost 5 elixirs. That's why I call this mechanic "Full absorption." The Hitpoints and Damage of the Elixir Golem will increase or decrease for every level of elixir.

-The Elixir Golem will no longer give your opponent elixir.

One factor that turns away players from using the card is the side effects of using it foolishly. When destroyed each blob gives your opponent 1 elixir, which when combined sums up to 4 elixirs. This gives the card a skill level in a sense, but this seems very unhealthy for the game.

    -Elixir Golem Hitpoints -10%

I foresee the card being broken after these changes so I suggest around a 10% Hitpoint nerf along with these other changes.

Stats for (NEW) Level 9 Elixir Golem per elixir

Elixir cost Proposed Hitpoints Proposed Damage
    1 Elixir 800 60
    2 Elixir 880 66
    3 Elixir 968 72
    4 Elixir 1064 80
    5 Elixir 1174 88
    6 Elixir 1288 96
    7 Elixir 1416 106
    8 Elixir 1556 116
    9 Elixir 1712 128
    10 Elixir 1884 120

Additionally, if the elixir golem costs 6 Elixir or more, it deals death damage

Death Damage stats for (NEW) level 9 Elixir Golem

    Elixir Cost Death Damage
    6 Elixir 70
    7 Elixir 77
    8 Elixir 84
    9 Elixir 93
    10 Elixir 102

This is so that you gain a helpful advantage against swarms and don't feel like you wasted elixir.

    (Stats increase when levelled up)

Feel free to leave a comment whether you like the idea or not. I'm looking forward to some suggestions.

    I hope supercell sees this

    New Mode

    Posted: 20 Aug 2021 10:21 AM PDT

Imagine a new mode where the princess towers go on vacation or on strike and the king tower is trying to find a replacement for 2 weeks.

In this special mode 7 different cards would get a 48hr rotation to stand atop the princess towers.

    1. Wizard- an interesting splash tower would be hard to compete against but I think could be a fun mode.

    2. Princess - allows the tower to shoot chows planted directly on the river

    3. Witch - this tower will spawn 3 skeletons periodically when a troop is with a small radius

    4. Spear Goblins - probably the most similar to a normal tower but shoots 3 spears good balloon counter

    5. Ice Wizard - slows the troops down but can allow for huge pushes due to smaller damage amount

    6. Sparky - this is interesting tower hits HARD but takes a long time to charge back up spell bait would be great against this golem would be bad.

    7. The kings brothers - all 3 towers have king tower cannons.

Should there be a way to sell the left over cards when all cards of that category is maxed?
