Return the heal spirit radius that was nerfed in Sept, or the 9% heal power nerf from Oct

    Posted: 10 Dec 2020 08:01 PM PST

They've now nerfed the card 3 times in 4 months, and this one finally did it, and actually killed it. One need only check TV, GC stats, ladder stats...or just go play. Third lowest win rate now. Clearly, the massive 69% damage nerf was enough to weaken it a bunch. So now that you've finally found your solution, revert the other attempts.

It's common sense and basic logic: this nerf alone is enough to solve the heal spirit OP issue, so revert the other attempts and stick with this one. At least revert one of those two prior nerfs. I imagine they'll take til 2022 to realize this, but here's to hoping.

    This balance should have been

"Heal spirit: damage decreased by 69%, heal power increased by 9%" (or same but radius buff)

Draft is total RNG, unfair to use as a new card event. Card pools are clearly curated (see: the swarm/splash in the Mother Witch event), yet there are matches with 5+ win cons. You can make multiple win con choices with the opp making none. Players can “buy” back into an unbalanced mode with gems

    New balance changes are good.

    Posted: 10 Dec 2020 07:13 PM PST

I know some people, mostly x bow users did not seem to enjoy the latest updates. I for one am loving this. Meta feels fresh, some cards that have not seen life in a long time are useful again, (witch). Mother witch is not godly but honestly she's kind of fun. Overall I'm pretty happy with balances. If they fixed cw2 now I would dare say this game is starting on a decent path.

I haven't found my -deck- for the season yet, but I'm really enjoying playing with new combos and card sets I haven't played with before or in ages.

1ST 2 WEEKS AFTHER SEASON RESET LADDER IS UNPLAYABLE ?

    Posted: 10 Dec 2020 12:15 PM PST

So this new system works like a charm, basicly from what i have noticed ladder is COMPLETELY useless to play because of the high level oponents...

Sure this was the case before the adjustment, but now you must win more games to compensate the sure losses you will have against these overleveled players, and because of the reset you will meet a lot of them in the 1st 2 weeks I estimate...

So what is the use of trying ?

This new system can only work if they make the drop at the reset of the new system lesser, that wat the high rollers at least be more in range of them selves, with the exception of afk / trolls and simular high rolers that didnt move up that previous season...

But how it is now, and I read it a lot here on the forum, it just is no fun at all to try and move up, cause you keep on falling down faster then you can stand up again...

Sorry just venting, I like ladder, but not like this :(

Party mode is an indicator that the game is dying

    Posted: 10 Dec 2020 08:41 AM PST

"Opponents are matched based on similar card levels"

This is what the current party game mode, Triple Elixir states in the info section. Other party modes that are not draft based also state this message. However, this season, this is no evident.

Triple elixir should be a relatively popular game mode. It's faster paced and allows for more off meta strategies to be used. It should have a well populated player base to draw matchmaking from, especially since pass royale holders can grind out battle pass tiers efficiently.

I believe the imbalance in matchmaking is caused by one (or many) of the following:

    • The selected game mode does not have a wide enough pool of players that it is willing to compromise "similar" matchmaking so as to not make players wait in queue.

    • This is a bug - I can't deny this as I have not collected nearly enough data.

    • The game has a very skewed idea of what "similar" means and considers a 20% difference in card level "similar"

Now level 11 vs level 13 may not seem like much, however keep in mind these are small numbers that don't explicitly state damage or health. Cards gain a 10% damage/health increase for each level so this is a 20% difference.

Below are several examples from my experiences today. There's no way to verify this without posting my entire match history, but I also have not received the benefit of this matchmaking to this extent lol (meaning I have not faced people with level 9 average cards while using a level 11 average deck).

    1st example

    2nd example

    3rd example

    4th example

    5th example

Feel free to discuss or challenge this thought process.

Why the Xbow rework won’t make xbow more offensive

    Posted: 10 Dec 2020 07:26 PM PST

Xbow was considered the most hated yet most skilled card in the game however these changes doesn't make xbow more offensive while also gutting its defensive ability.

While I do agree that being able to stack xbows was ridiculous , the damage buff simply isn't enough to compensate the lack of hp the xbow has to consider putting it offensively against certain matchups.

With spells like rocket and lightning practically hard countering xbow now, it will only result in the xbow player just not playing xbow and continue spell cycling as xbow cycle would have no other way of dealing dmg since it dies so quickly its not worth the investment to keep it alive.

Spell cycling was a good way to end the game as xbow however , players won't rely on it unless they truly have no way to break through. With the lifetime and hp nerfs , it will be even harder to break through certain matchups and in the end , the remaining xbow players will just be spell cycling and defending even harder while hardly using the xbow.

My suggestion would be to either further increase its dps to make it a much more punishing glass cannon or to revert the hp nerf and see where it lands as it would allow players to actually play it at the bridge without it dying in 10 seconds.

tldr xbow players won't play xbow if it dies too quick before doing dmg and will just result in spell cycle as win con
