    Amount of cards we need increases but amount of cards we receive stays the same

    Time by time new cards are being added to the game and we need to collect more and more cards to upgrade. But simultaneously, the amount of cards from chests and request stays the same. I believe this order should change. Every year the amount of cards received from chests and clans should be increased. For example 40 common cards per request is extremely low at the moment, we're not in 2017 there are 100+ cards I need to increase. It should have been increased to 80 by this time. What do you guya think and would supercell make this move on behalf of players?

    As we all know, CWII was a bust, but I believe my 3-day format would fix most, if not all the issues that people have with CWII.

    Below is a summary of a Google doc linked below, for more details and explanations on everything click the link.

    My reasoning is all on the Google doc. If you have questions there is a fair chance it's on the doc

    Note: I have ran simulations of 10,000 clans using Python, if you are interested in looking at my (extremely hacky) code that link is also below.

    Ok. Now on to the meat of the post.

    Overview:

    CWIII is a three day war system, featuring up to 100 clans in a single war.

    Day 1:

    • This is the collection day (Think CWI collection day on steroids)
    • Each war a random collection of 60 cards plus some staple cards (log, fireball, etc.) would be available to each clan
    • To collect these cards, every player in the clan battles using one of three methods:
      • Own Deck
        • Press battle
        • You will be matched up against a random player
        • Each player votes on a game mode (e.g. 7x elixir, spawn-behind-tower, normal)
        • Random choice between the two votes
        • Choose a deck from your deck slots
        • Battle
      • 2v2
        • Same as own deck except it's 2v2
      • Provided Deck
        • Press battle
        • You will be matched up against a random player
        • Each player votes on a game mode (e.g. classic decks, mirror)
        • Random choice between the two votes
        • Battle
    • Each player can battle as much as they want, but the amount of cards from a single win would start off massive but then decrease over time

    Day 2: (Think CWI war day on steroids and crack)

    • Battle day!
    • Each clan gets a total of 60 matches to divide amongst its members
      • However, no player can battle more than twice
    • Hard level caps based on league (Bronze:9 to Legendary:13)
    • Use the cards from day 1 at the levels from day 1, but not higher than your own levels
    • Every war battle is a Duel (bo3)
      • Can't use the same deck in multiple matches
        • However each deck can share up to three cards
      • If a player is doing two Duels, they can use the same 3 decks

    Trophy system:

    • Each Duel win = 1 clan trophy
    • Based on your place among the 100 clans, there are bonus trophies
      • E.g. +25 bonus trophies for first
      • -25 trophies for last
    • Total trophies earned per war = (# of wins + bonus trophies)

    Day 3:

    • Cooldown day
    • Collect rewards
    • Award trophies to each clan
    • Minigames or special challenges

    Also Included:

    • Clan Wars global leaderboard
      • Top few clans each season get free Pass Royale
    • Challenge tokens

    Benefits of this structure:

    • Each day has structure and a purpose
    • Lots of gamemodes for the casual
    • Competitive structure for the competitive
    • Lots of rewards for everyone

    Well...that's it for the clan

    I'm not writing this to blame anyone or even complain. I have had a fantastic three years of playing this game. I work in mobile games development and am aware of how difficult it is, how high the stakes are. I know any decisions made on a live product have real and quantifiable ramifications. So I sympathize with the designers and team that put out CW2. The desire was to create something more varied and engaging. I hope they can continue to improve it, to salvage what they can.

    Regardless, the inevitable truth is that our clan is dead. We were a clan comprised of our game development studio in Germany. And as people moved on in life and their careers, it was a way we could stay in touch. Even as I left Germany and moved back to the states, I was able to keep in touch with our clan. We had people that never said a word, people that talked a ton, people that loved clan wars, people that never touched it. And it took us months, but we moved into the Lendary Arena and it felt great. We were a tight group of clan war players (12-15) despite us having a full clan of people filtering in and out.

    There are hundreds of posts detailing what went wrong in CW2, but the only one that hurts is that our clan has all but vanished. We're in gold, we get 3rd place every week so despite best efforts, are going down. At first we got the boot maybe once every 5 races. Then it became more common. People started filtering out. As the leader of the clan, I always pay attention to the people joining/leaving and it was always very consistent. We always had around 45+ players. Now we're down to 20, 10 of which don't play the war. Despite lowering trophy requirement, nobody joins. And it's sad. Some clan members (myself included) have accepted it, and others are still stressing themselves trying to rally others despite the math not adding up.

    My goal has never been to min/max collection in the game, it was always to have fun, so I will go down with the ship until it's over (our clan, not the game). Just wanted to say thank you Supercell for providing a great way to stay in touch over the years with people I don't see anymore. Rooting for you all to turn this ship around. I also want to say I appreciate how candid the community managers have been especially on reddit. I think people take that for granted. I'll definitely be back.

    friendly fire on. spells and area damage affect all troops in the area of effect, not just your opponent.

    this could at least be a special play mode. golem breaking apart would destroy his own bats

    An executive on a sailboat thought it would be fun to see clans race to the finish line. He doesn't play the game but he's got a lot of pull.

    They praised it as a brilliant idea while knowing it was not but the devs couldn't revert to the old system so they double down.

    To say it's an awful update would be a slap a slap in the face for the exec because he's got a lot of pull.

    So... they say it isn't perfect. They just want to see this update plan out to make this idea come alive for that exec.

    It didn't turn out the way the exec wanted it so they used Seth as a scapegoat.
