Does SuperCell not understand that their progression system is fundamentally broken for both good and bad players?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2020 05:55 AM PST

Ladder is undeniably broken and has such an ass backwards progression system at every level, it's laughable.

    1) New players. Let's assume you're brand new to Crash Royale. You're a level 1 rocking your giant-witch-archers deck, learning the ropes, counters, the feel of the game. There's 3 ways this will go down.

    A) You're good at clash. The concepts and game play are easy for you to pick up and you excel. You're winning much more than you're losing, but that soon changes as your level 2-3 commons aren't doing enough against level 6 rares and epics. Now you're stuck, not because you're bad at the game. But because your strategies simply no longer work at such a level difference.

    B) You're alright at the game. You're not the next Orange Juice but you've got a decent win/loss ratio. All is well; You never face anyone so beyond your level and you develope skill at a natural, but slow progression. Sure, it sucks that you can't seem to get to those cool new cards, but you're moving up as your cards level up.

    C) You're just not that good at clash. And that's fine! Nobody should be barred from doing something they enjoy if they're not good at it. So you keep playing, trying out new strategies as your levels rise but your arena doesn't. Soon enough you find yourself winning, but it's not because you've suddenly figured out how to play, but because your prince is level 7 and mowing down the new players at your arena. So, now you're moving up, but you haven't really learned or figured out how to play, you just win because you're levels mean you can't loose. This not only means you never really get better, but you're restricting access to higher arenas to people who's skill earned them that spot.

And this keeps happening over and over. Option A eventually gets halted by overleveled opponents, B is just stuck in purgatory, and C is how you get the great wall of 12's at 5k.

    Reducing RNG in starting hand

    Posted: 29 Nov 2020 08:50 PM PST

I found some very old posts discussing about reducing the rng in the starting hand. There was not much discusion done, so wanted to spawn a new discussion on this. So fixing the starting hand has a lot of demerits. You don't want to get spammed by ebarb/rg/hog rage as the first play. But it is also frustating when your opponent plays a barrel and log is your 8th card, or for that incoming hog, the cannon is your 8th card. Its very hard to recover after 1 princess tower is half health in the first 30 seconds of the game.

Can we have the option to have only 1 card fixed in the first hand? That will help reducing the rng a lot, but will not give too many options to spam

Supercell needs to make an effort to *not* spoil CRL results.

    Posted: 29 Nov 2020 07:16 PM PST

I know in most games the pro scene isn't the most important thing to the vast majority of casual players, and I assume CR is no different. However this has been really bothering me lately: Everywhere I follow any Clash content (from SC), it's harder to avoid spoilers than if I were to scroll through any other clash youtubers channel/instagram. It's completely backwards.

I work almost every weekend, and most every day I'm working until well after CRL has started. And since I live in the US watching CRL East live is literally not an option unless I stay up until 8 am the next day on my days off (which aren't the weekend, when it airs). As such I'm relegated to VODs, which I don't mind in the slightest...except their youtube videos, community posts, hell even within the game itself there's a huge banner at the top of the esports tab announcing who won playoffs.

For the people like me, that love watching the pros but has a work schedule that gets in the way, at least give us a chance to catch up on a day off.

No clan wars in the weekend?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2020 08:30 AM PST

    Hey,

Is it just me, or am I the only one with more time in the weekend then during the work week? My clan finished the war, usually before a Friday. I do some fights during break at work or on the evening. But now, Saturday and Sunday when i have lots of time on my hands the clan war is over... The new boat race starts on a Monday, but wouldn't it be better if it started on a Friday? We have more free time (well, most of us) in the weekend. And active clans finish their race before it? Change it to Friday?

    API Question

    Posted: 29 Nov 2020 12:51 PM PST

    Hello everyone,

I am creating a little companion web app around clash royale. I already have the API keys and others.

My question is, I've seen apps starting the game with an invite up top directly inside the game. I was wondering if there was documentation regarding that somewhere.

Here is an example of what i mean: https://imgur.com/a/tWPMTfb

    is it a public api?
