    New card idea: O.T.T.O. Bot

    O.T.T.O Bot: The Creative Process! - u/Techboy1997

Yet another card idea inspired by COC, it takes quite a unique approach to a concept that's been widely considered to be fundamentally broken: direct spell resiliance/invulnerability. However, this special ability only affects buildings, adding a deteriorating shield on friendly buildings/crown towers 3.5 seconds after deployment! As the OP has stated, "The card idea was created to prevent spells in the tower in advance, not to stop them when they already have been released".

In the second post listed, OP guides us through his creative process how the card was made. This is a 5-hour process that involves cutting and mixing existing renders, changing the card's color tone and saturation, modifying the stats and description panels, and more! I really hope this user gets the support they deserve. From the video it is clear that there was lots was put into this card idea, and tons of nuance was taken into consideration to make this idea the best it can be.

What Has Happened to this Game? - u/MeteorologyMan

Though it seems like a vent post at first glance, this is an insightful post actually contains a lot of valid and constructive criticism regarding the current state of CR, how updates are handled, and the frequency of them. The OP also does a great job explaining his stance on the monthly balance updates and communication across different platforms. Overall this is a great opinion post that documents CR's update history and where it is now.

Is a card OP/viable/bad? Here's how to use RoyaleAPI to see - u/BestN00b

Here is a post that aims to give the community a clearer perspective and a better understanding of card balance and how viable they really are in the game. OP details optimal filters to use and a basic and an advanced guide for interpreting usage/win rates. They do a phenomenal job answering potential questions and using examples from the past to determine the strength of a card. This is definitely an insightful post for those that are willing to use one of the best CR analytical sites around!

New card idea: Protector - u/Blackangel466

This is quite a creative card concept that revolves around a unit taking damage for nearby allie as the title implies. Though OP hasn't directly mentioned how this card can make a positive contribution to the game, he is quite active and is always open for feedback and suggestions!

He has made a bevy of other dope card ideas as well! Here are a few of them:

Dark Princess | Hailstone | Pyrocart | Mega Clone

If I was making this game today, I'd do these things differently - u/Smasher_Clash

Here is a post made by a long-time player, who explains how the game would be different if they were to develop the game. The topic OP covers is progression, ladder, matches (specifically battles in 1x elixir), and starting hand. They also do a great job identifying the underlying problems with the aforementioned topics along with RPS elements of previous metas, spells, and card balance. OP also mentions other miscellaneous concepts that'd be added as well.

My Top 10 Fantasy Royale Picks. - u/Asdfhuk

This is a speculation post that lists potentially great picks for the upcoming CRL West season. The list is based off from the players' previous achievements and stand-out moments from past events.

Progress Royale App - Now with Star Level Previews - u/ProgressRoyale

The folks who have made Progress Royale have are proud to present their newest update, which features star level previews for every card in the game. Along with pointing out what has already been added due to community feedback, they've also shown roadmap for future updates, which is the following:

    - Get a Content Creator Code

    - Multiple accounts

    - Clan sorting

    - Top Decks (Meta & This season)

    - Youtubers Ranking

    - Cards Timeline

    - Guess the Cards mini game

Progress Royale is quickly proving itself to be a phenomenal utility app, so it is highly encouraged you install it!

Stop blaming people who wants to use meta deck - u/Sylfer_DD

This is a great post that challenges the argument that downplays the usage of meta decks and the players using them. OP points out how in every existing game there is always an optimal way to play and win, that using an wacky deck usually won't produce the results a meta deck would make, and it's tougher that one may think to make a legitimately strong off-meta deck.

A way to buff investment decks by reworking elixir collector - u/RedLegend5

This is a post that aims to revive the usage of heavy investment decks, which have been overshadowed by the quick cycle/chip decks that are omnipresent in the meta. It features quite an interesting rework for Elixir Collector, which has not been performing well for the past several months.

As always, feedback regarding the daily discussions and this new format is highly encouraged!

    With that said, ask away!

    [Strategy] Ultimate BM guide

    Posted: 24 May 2020 08:38 PM PDT

DISCLAIMER: u/imattf has done this 2 years ago but I want to extend on that.

DISCLAIMER 2: If you do these, be sure to wash your hands with 1 liter of soap after playing. You know, for multiple reasons.

    Idea behind BMing

Very simple. Spam emotes and texts until your opponent rages and tries to play aggressive (which you should never do). Even pros do it some times (looking at you, Surg).

    Emotes you will need:

    • Hog Screaming
    • Princess Yawn
    • Skeleton cry (optional)
    • EWiz laugh (optional)

    Starting the match

If your deck requires your opponent to make the first move, start spamming the princess yawn emote in conjunction with the screaming emote to "annoy" them into making the first move.

Of course, keep spamming "Good Luck" and other texts until they lose their mind.

If they say "Good Luck" to you, say Good Luck back and start laughing.

    Middle of the match

If they make a mistake or if you break through/gets lots of damage:

    • Thanks!
    • Well Played!
    • [Thumbs up]
    • Oops

If you want to be extra toxic, spam all of these one after the other.

If you made a mistake, don't say anything.

    End of the match

    If you won:

    • Thanks!
    • [Thumbs up]
    • Well Played!
    • Good Game!
    • Well Played!
    • Wow!
    • Oops
    • Laughing
    • [Crying]

If you lost, don't say anything. If he BMs you (highly likely) just say Good Game.

This time, it is a requirement to spam these.

If you don't like complexity, then just spam [Laughing].

    When you just did anything

(After you defend something, activate king tower, logged a goblin barrel, etc)

    • Well played!
    • Thanks!
    • [Crying]

You absolutely need to spam these!

If your opponent runs Ebarb rage, is overleveled, uses your hated card, etc

    [Continuous screaming]

I hope you like my ultimate Strategy post (yes yes yes I know).

Good luck BMing your opponents and make them rage!

PS: If nothing is happening, yawn at them until they do something. Or just spam something else.

How high of a win rate is too high on ladder? Time to nerf Bridge Spam and Log Bait?

    Posted: 24 May 2020 09:17 PM PDT

According to StatsRoyale (sort by win rate in the dropdown), 2 archetypes are dominating ladder this month: P.E.K.K.A bridge spam and Log Bait. For clarity, P.E.K.K.A bridge spam (PBS) is:

    • Battle Ram
    • Zap
    • Poison
    • Royal Ghost or Dark Prince
    • Minions, Magic Archer, or rarely Baby Dragon
    • P.E.K.K.A
    • Electro Wizard
    • Bandit

    and Log Bait is:

    • Goblin Barrel
    • The Log
    • Rocket
    • Knight or Valkyrie (or Rascals in the no-building variant)
    • Goblin Gang
    • Inferno Tower or Tesla (or Prince in the no-building variant)
    • Princess
    • Ice Spirit (or Dart Goblin in the no-building variant)

At the time of writing, the winningest PBS deck (Dark Prince/Minions) has a 58.38% win rate, and the most popular PBS deck (Royal Ghost and Magic Archer) has a 55.59% win rate. Similarly, the winningest Log Bait deck (my own deck -- Valkyrie/Tesla/Ice Spirit) has a 57.78% win rate, and the most popular Log Bait deck (Knight/Inferno Tower/Ice Spirit) has a 56.69% win rate. Although these two archetypes have been at/near the top of the ladder win rate chart for months, perhaps even years, I don't recall seeing the win rates quite this high. Usually, however, the win rates don't exceed 56%, and there's more diversity at the top of the list. This season, however, variants of these two archetypes occupy the all of the top 8 spots on the list and 10 out of the top 14. Is it time to nerf these two archetypes?

As much as it pains me to say it (since I play Log Bait on ladder), I think so. In my opinion, the prime card in PBS to be nerfed is eWiz. He's the fifth most used card above 4k trophies (24.0% use) and has the sixth highest win rate (55.0%). Those percentages have been pretty stable for months on end, and I've wanted to see him nerfed for just as long. Either a slight damage nerf or a 0.1s nerf to his hit speed should do the trick. Since we're seeing him in plenty of archetypes like Giant Beatdown, Golem Beatdown, and (at least until Furnace got nerfed) Royal Giant decks, he's just a little too versatile.

As for Log Bait, it's a tougher call which card should get nerfed. Supercell seems to consider most spells balanced (and I tend to agree), leaving just 3 cards that are common to all 5 Log Bait decks: Goblin Barrel, Goblin Gang, and Princess. They'd have to get pretty creative to nerf Goblin Gang without also affecting one or more of the 5 cards that include Goblins or Spear Goblins. Princess has lost some of her versatility since Firecracker replaced her in Hog cycle decks, so nerfing Princess would reduce her already rather low stock. Some time ago, Goblin Barrel got a slight buff that decreased the time between the barrel landing and each Goblin's first stab. Reversing this buff should dampen the success of Log Bait, allowing both spells and troop counters like Valkyrie and Skeleton Army to prevent damage more easily.

What do you think? I'm curious to hear the community's perspective on these two archetypes.

    Game Mode idea: Bans Royale

    Posted: 24 May 2020 01:17 AM PDT

Every 30 seconds there will be another ban, such as "no spells". You can't use and play the spells that are in your hand for 30 seconds (because there will be another ban).

You can see what ban is active and how long it lasts and you can see what ban is next.

    Idea's for bans/handicaps:

    - no spells for 30 seconds

-no 4 elixir or less elixir cards for 30 seconds

-no cards for 30 seconds (watch your push die and see how much damage it did)

    -no buildings for 30 seconds

-you can't use the leftmost card in your hand for 30 seconds (you better fix your cycle)

    Extra info:

In a whole 5 minute match will be 10 bans (300/30=10). When all the cards in your hand are banned, you are screwed because you can't play anything. You and your opponent always have the same ban active. There is only one ban at a time.

    Thoughts?
