Weekly General Discussion Thread: 5/16- 5/18 Posted: 16 May 2020 03:15 PM PDT Hello Clash Royale Fans! In this thread you are able to discuss about anything about Clash Royale! Whether it is an card/feature idea you'd like to share or a simple question regarding the game, this is the thread for you! However, please abide by the subreddit's rules and follow reddiquette. Any comment with malicious intent WILL be removed, so please be considerate to others and respectful of their viewpoints. It is also advised that you research your questions before you ask them here. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Notable Posts This WeekIt Takes More Than 3 Years to Max Out!—Clash Royale Resource Economy - u/edihau This is a phenomenal post that goes into detail about how long it really takes for one to fully max out. It contains a fill-in spreadsheet that takes into consideration all the possibilities how much gold and cards one can get on a daily basis. Pass Royale. Clan Wars, PB in the season, card requests, and opening chest frequency are also taken into account. After filling in the fill-in sheet, one would be able to determine how much time it takes for their account to get maxed. It also contains a ton of insightful information regarding Ladder, Quests, and Challenges! No stress, No problem: How to progress stress free. - u/Huffelpuff__rainbow Here's a redditor that has not only been very active and promotes tons of discussion within the subreddit, but also has made a bevy of amazing effort posts over the past month, ranging from card ideas to breaking down the many archetypes in the game! This is definitely a user that has demonstrated exemplary effort and passion for the game, so it was about time this user was featured in detail. This post is their most recent one, and it covers all the issues with ladder progression and how to adapt to them, ultimately alleviating frustration. Specifically it covers leveling defects, tilting, and adapting to balance changes. These issues are described with great detail and shows a phenomenal understanding of the game. I definitely suggest giving this post a read after a long, dreaded tilt on ladder! Here are some of their other posts, which I highly suggest taking a look at: 1 "Advanced" tip for every card in the game pt. 1 1 "Advanced" tip for every card in the game pt. 2 Tesla: Use, synergy, countering, and relative card breakdown Deck building pt. 3: Archetypes: How will you get the win? Enhance Chat/Mail/Communication Features - u/amarti913 As the title suggests, this is a post that aims to optimize communication in international clans. It points out that it's tough for people of different languages to efficiently communicate with one another and problems associated with this. This is a post that unfortunately hasn't gained the traction it deserves, and should definitely be kept in consideration for improving the game. New Card Idea: Battle Blimp! - u/jonnyfonny Taking inspiration from the Battle Blimp from Clash Of Clans, this user has made quite an innovative idea that would undoubtedly shake up gameplay. As the description says, "The Battle Blimp carries your troops over to your opponents! Make sure what's inside packs a punch". First, it is a building that stores deployed troops. However, it has two factors that determine what unit can and can't go into the blimp: Unit Health and Number of Units Placed. Once it has reached these limits it soars to the skies, making ground-only units to only target air (units that target both don't get affected). However, the Blimp does NO damage, and when it gets destroyed, it drops with all the stored units, enabling them to wreck havoc. This is definitely one of the best card ideas on the subreddit, and I highly suggest giving it a read! Assassin - card concept - u/Namethatsnotoccupied Here is yet another post that hasn't gotten the recognition it deserves! this is another card concept that is explained in detail. Though it may be similar to Goblin Cage, it has just enough to prove itself distinguishable and compelling in the Arena. This game absolutely needs rework protection. - u/Makkisenpai This post brings up an interesting argument about the impact of severe nerfs - if a particular card gets overnerfed, it can severely impede the general strength of player's decks. They essentially have to wait at least a month for their favorite card to even be considered to get rebuffed, which inevitably leads to frustration across the community. This is quite an interesting post that has generated some great discussion regarding the issues with volatile card reworks/heavy nerfs. Thoughts on cycle/spam metas - u/Tidal365 This is a discussion-oriented post that brings up the argument whether the meta is becoming too fast-paced. It documents changes from previous seasons and what has risen as a result. As always, feedback regarding the daily discussions and the weekly general discussion threads are highly encouraged! Apologies for not having one for last week :( With that said, ask away! [link] [comments]

Cards and Gold (but mostly cards) Posted: 16 May 2020 08:42 PM PDT So I'm posting this to get some opinions on how other people feel because I don't know anyone in real life who plays this game. I'm sort of ranting but I feel like it's a little justified because I've played the game since release at least 6 times a week with only a 5 month break and I only have 3 epics and 0 legendaries maxed. And the 5 month break was because I was tired of playing the same deck for like 4 years in a row or however long it's been because if I ever dare to switch my deck it's an automatic loss from having under-leveled cards. Isn't the progression way too slow in this game? Do you guys feel the same? Trading tokens = giving away 1 card to get another = 0 net gain Requesting cards in clan = getting a card at the expense of a clan mate = 0 net gain Buying cards in shop with gold = you won't have any gold left to upgrade the card you just bought. A way to buff investment decks by reworking elixir collector Posted: 16 May 2020 08:03 PM PDT Intro So I was thinking about how the heavy investment style of gameplay is kind of dead and the meta is mostly dominated by cheap/medium-cost decks. Two of the heaviest decks in the game (three musketeers and golem) are lacking in popularity and winrates. Golem is not bad, but three musketeers are pretty much extinct. I think the game suffers from a lack of investment decks because the meta has a huge focus on being aggressive and getting chip damage throughout the match. Just look at the most popular GC cards. There are mostly aggressive win conditions at the top and there isn't a card that is over 4 elixir until mega knight at number 29. There are a lot of skill-based decks in the meta focused on micro-play and getting the most out of interactions, but there aren't enough decks focused on macro-play and long-term strategy. The rework I propose that elixir collector should get rework/buff. It is a card that used to be used in heavy decks like three musketeers, golem, and sometimes lava hound or giant. Now it only has a 1% usage rate and a 40% winrate in GCs. Here is what I think its rework should look like:
The first part of this rework would decrease the time that it takes for the elixir collector to do its job while giving it an elixir spawn upon its destruction. Note that the total elixir it generates (8) will NOT change. Essentially, this somewhat lessens the risk of playing an elixir collector. Your opponent will still be able to catch you at an elixir disadvantage, but you will be able to regain your elixir quicker. Also, earthquake will not hard-counter it as bad. All heavy spells will take 1 less elixir value from the collector as a result of the elixir spawn on death. That means earthquake will be an even trade (excluding tower damage done by the earthquake player) and big spells will be a -1 trade (excluding tower damage). The second part of this rework would allow elixir collector users the option of using it at the start of the battle. This would make elixir collector a consistent card rather than being luck-based. You don't have to wonder if your elixir collector is your 6th or 8th card anymore. Often times elixir collector players only get to use it once per match if it is their last card. Conclusion Tell me what you think in the comments. I think this would be a good change to buff elixir collector and it would diversify the meta a bit. I could see golem being slightly too strong after this buff, so maybe it could receive a slight nerf along with the collector buff. [link] [comments]
